Our fishing trip packages include a guided fishing tour, bait, tackle, rods/reels, safety equipment (life jackets, ice cleats & picks), and complimentary fish cleaning (if so desired).
Guests are responsible for purchasing their own fishing license/permits. Guides will ensure all guests are properly licensed before the trip begins. Anglers should provide their own food and beverages for the day. The consumption of alcohol is permitted when otherwise legal in accordance with state law and local regulations. Small coolers are allowed.
Dress appropriately for the weather conditions:
- For ice fishing trips, dress in layers that can be easily removed throughout the day. Make sure you have a warm pair of gloves, socks, and waterproof boots.
-For open-water trips, we recommend all guests bring rain gear, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
Our Ice Fishing trips can accommodate groups of up 3 anglers (this includes total adults and children). We do NOT mix individual/unfamiliar anglers together. For larger groups (including corporate events, bachelor parties, etc.) please contact us for availability and specialty rates.
Open Water trips can accommodate groups of up to 2 adult anglers, or 1 adult angler and 2 children.
Our fishing trips are suitable for both beginners and experienced anglers. Techniques and equipment are tailored to the needs of the party. Even if you've never fished before, we are happy to have you!
There is no minimum age requirement to fish with us. However, parents or guardians should exercise discretion when bringing very young children. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal adult.
Your guide will inform you of the starting time and location (boat ramp, public access, hotel, etc) the day before your trip.
4-hour trips are classified as either morning or afternoon. Morning trips typically begin at safe light and end four hours later. Afternoon trips typically begin 4 hours before sunset and end at sunset.
8-hour trips typically begin at safe light and end eight hours later.
*** Overnight trips are available in select locations during specific periods of the year. Night trips typically begin one hour before sunset, and can last up to 8 hours. Special rates and booking procedures apply. Please contact us for more information if interested.
Our traditional fishing packages (excluding speciality events) are priced per group, rather than per individual.
A 50% security deposit is required to guarantee a trip. Once we confirm the booking, you will receive an email with your invoice and payment instructions. Once the deposit has been paid, you will receive a confirmation email with additional trip information. Security deposits must be paid within 72 hours of receipt or the reservation may be forfeited. The remaining 75% balance must be paid upon completion of the trip.
All security deposits must be paid online through the invoice that is emailed to you after booking. Remaining balances must be paid in cash, cash app (Venmo), or online.
*Checks will not be accepted.
Security deposits will be refunded for cancellations made at least 30 days prior to the trip. Cancellations made less than 30 days in advance will be forfeited, unless the trip is cancelled by Prairie Scout Fishing Co.
If our guide determines that it is unsafe to go fishing due to severe weather conditions (lightning, high winds, blizzards, etc.) or unsafe ice, security deposits will be refunded or can be used to reschedule a trip. Decisions to cancel a trip due to severe weather or unsafe ice conditions will be made by Prairie Scout Fishing Co. exclusively, If unexpected weather conditions or unsafe ice arise during a trip requiring us to end the day early, the remaining trip cost will be prorated accordingly.
Lodging (and dining) recommendations will be provided via email after successfully booking so you can make accommodations. We maintain a list of preferred vendors in all the areas we fish. Lodging costs are not included in our guided fishing packages.
Guests are permitted to bring up to two of their own rod/reel combo's. No other fishing equipment should be brought without prior approval from our guide.
Unfortunately, we do not allow pets to accompany our guests during guided fishing trips. If you require the use of a service animal, please be sure to mention this during booking.
